The procedure for a breast lift is performed under general anaesthetic.
I make an incision around the areola and down the front of the breast. After which I lift the breasts and reshape it cutting away any excess skin. I reposition the areola and nipple, resizing if necessary.
If I am using an implant to increase fullness and size this is usually done at the same time. Occasionally, I will advise to do the augmentation as a separate procedure.
If reducing the size of the breast I will remove excess tissue, fat and skin while I reshape the breast. If necessary I will resize the areola and nipple and reposition them to give lift. The incisions are neatly sutured closed.
