After the otoplasty procedure results are immediate, bandages are only occasionally required.

A light dressing might be recommended, especially at night, for a few more weeks to help prevent any folding of the cartilage.  Care should be taken not to do anything that might bend the ear.

There is little pain involved in an otoplasty. There may be some discomfort for the first week but your medication will ease the pain.

Avoid strenuous activities and pulling clothes over your head.

If the patient is a child they may be active within a few hours of surgery. Most children return to school after a week but must take care when playing or engaging in physical activities.
